Oh my goodness
What a word
It’s so sad, and rather absurd
Considering it’s the new year
A new beginning
Should be full of hope
And lots of grinning!
Looking forward, definitely not back
This word seems as if hope is lacked.
But I’ll give it a chance, try not to scorn
But, really, people, forlorn?
The Bag Lady 
I’ve been quite forlorn for days now. That word sums me up perfectly

I know…. when I read it this morning, I thought… Wow! That’s jolly! Forget Christmas merriness and New Year’s mistle toe! “Forlorn”…. Dang! I think they picked “funereal” for tomorrow, roll up your sleeves!!
