Went out today midst the lights and holly
Saw kids I missed for a while, it was jolly.
The firefighter wants to be in C A
For the fires there but we want him to stay
Here where it’s safe, relatively so
He’s needed here with the coming snow
The college girl is home for a bit
School’s out but has a job-working at it
When we all get together in a few days
We’ll prep all the fixings for cookies to bake.
It’s only two weeks before the big day
Everything’s busy, but going okay.
