She taught for years on the prairie
Room of children hardly merry
The classes’ nature was secondary
Often causing her to parry
With students’ behavior scary
But she continued to carry
On and dare not tarry
With the lessons ordinary
Finally tired, she worked the library
Of student and classes she was wary
No longer thought teaching ancillary
Alone and quiet, preferring solitary.
