I am lucky to have one

A defender, a champion

He’s young and quite strong

Drives and takes me along.

Sometimes on his visits

He surprises me and insists

To take me someplace nice

A lake to see ducks on ice

Or botanical gardens I love

He handles me with kid gloves.

The movies, a lunch or dinner

Always fun with this winner.  

Protects and very carefully

Tries to keep me safe you see.

He’s a special grandson

And he is my champion.

    1. Oh, that’s horrible! When my husband retired, we moved up here from TX to be near them. Since four years ago I have another little one far away in NJ. The time I’ve had near them is the greatest in my life.
