Everyone’s busy this time of year
Santa has lots of stories to hear
But parents seem to be honor bound
To defy the kids sneaking around.
No one wants them ruining their surprise
Trying to keep gifts from their prying eyes
Is truly a task of extraordinary means
With boxes or blankets, even old jeans.
They prowl, they’re clever, and they sneak
Anything to find them and peek.
In hiding, Santa takes pride
Telling the parents, don’t worry, abide.
