Sarah decided to have the donut company ship a dozen of each healthy, oil free treats to her friends. This way, Christmas shopping was finished for the year with the bonus of an early order discount. Sarah could then scratch off every single line of her list.
The only problem she envisioned was how to make sure they were safe and not seared in the heat of her “Christmas in July” theme this year. Otherwise they might arrive tasting like granite.
Charlie, quite pleased with himself, contemplated how long it would take for them to find her, muffled with a scarf ‘round her face. There were many holes in these old stoneworks. Maybe I should have taken her down to the dungeon. Of course, then they would never find her, Charlie thought, mischievously.

Rising from their bed, Marie looked back at her husband. There he was, asleep, feeling no pain at last. The past few nights had been unbearable, but now he seemed peaceful.
Arguing about treatment had been the subject of their disagreements the past weeks. They both knew, even unspoken, the treatments would fail eventually. The entire family wanted him to take the medical advice, have the operations–try.
The fact there was no cure remained an unbridgeable reality to his loved ones.

Every state has their own idiosyncrasies, but give Vermont a try, you will not be disappointed.
