Sunday Whirl

The ornithologist straightened his chart out flat on his lap. He had been watching the family of birds for two weeks, with the hope of doing a paper to present at the upcoming CFO in Denver the following month.

It was a difficult job to stay in one place day after day observing the matters of birds in their nests, hoping the tiny eggs would finally pop open and you would be able to catch the perfect moment on camera. Not being the careless type, even this scientist grew weary at times and would nod off, only to discover he had missed the piece of the pie he wanted most.

As most dedicated ornithologists know, they are a few rare takers of those special occasions and revel in the unique capture of them.

JuJoJan 5 – Intention

Whatever your intention

It must have been a good one

The fact it disturbed us all

We hope you didn’t mean it

Words just kept tumbling out

As if you’ve no control

We all wince and turn away

As on and on and on you go.

MLMM Saturday Mix Double Take

***

It was a breezy airy morning and the aerie I was watching was quiet. As a nature photographer it takes patience to elicit a picture of baby eaglets. An illicit photographer will try anything to entice the babies to flight. It’s only when the father of the group flies close to the camera that he stops. Anyone seeing a huge fierce taloned bald eagle flying straight towards them tends to turn and run.

I tried not to, but. . .

What is happening here

What it is, is exactly clear

A president that’s goin down

So he does the sidestep round

Hopes to trick you to believing

That he’s good and not deceiving

Dance on, moronic puppet master

While we the people suffer disaster.

I showed this video to my grandson with how I describe Trump and his actions. He tries the “little sidestep” constantly, in my opinion. Charles Durning from “The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas”. If you haven’t seen this movie or musical, I definitely recommend it.

Sammiscribbles Weekend Writing Prompt

Tired of the news

Various pointed views

Politicians abound

Sick of their sound

Think I’ll choose to pack a bag

Find a place that has no flag

With no people to moan and wag

About the news, that constant drag

Maybe a beach, just sit reading a mag

Maybe a mountain high with slag

Any where I can just lollygag.

Christine’s Daily Writing Prompt

“Meet me in St. Louis!” he called over his shoulder, as he walked down the ramp to the plane. It was a joke between us, using old musicals to taunt each other. He knew full well I wouldn’t meet him anywhere. We had just had a short meeting – albeit affair, in my uncle’s cabin in the mountains. It was a onetime meet, a short moment of love, a dream finally fulfilled.

We met through the Internet at a time I was searching for a reason to be looking forward to anything besides my health problems. I happened upon his site and loved his wit and humor. I needed that outlet, and of course I now admit, I needed him.

We grew close, revealing private thoughts only shared between the two of us. We made up fantasies we knew would never come to life, never actually meeting. And then it happened. A business trip to the US near where I lived and the plans began. It was never to be actualized, but then it was. Waiting at the airport, driving to the cabin, all a dream that turned into reality.

It was short but wonderful, and when we virtually resume our affair, we will have vivid memories to enjoy.
