Asleep or awake I’m thinking of you
It is your being distant that I rue
Then my heart turns shades of blue
But when you’re near, ever true
My heart’s all beating red with you.

“The King’s Speech” is an excellent movie in case you are looking for a distraction from violence in the news.

6 am. Saturday. I just woke up. Trash trucks banging around outside. The person in the apartment above’s refusing to get up to his phone alarm that is going off every two minutes. 🤯 It’s going to be one of those days already.
On the positive side, I can continue rewatching the “Grimm” series on my iPad and I have the directors’ videos from the Mandalorian series because I love behind the scenes, so plenty to watch. . .with no commercials. Yea! I have two new kindle books to read, so I’m set!
Everyone is gone this weekend so it’s a lazy day.

Used to love her true
But lately getting blue
Endless talking overrated
Needed to be separated
Murder contemplated.

A phone call this morning and texts, but I had not turned the sound on my phone yet.
It wasn’t more than a hundred, but close. The last one from my daughter: “just checking if you were still immortal”.
It’s a family joke since I have died and come back, obviously, twice, almost three. So we all get a laugh out of it.😀

Untouched books crowded his shelves, shiny leather spines and faded first editions, meticulously dusted and never read. Every classic ever written, every avant-garde collection, and historical novels, all neatly placed in order. Gerald had never actually read any of them, but purchased and kept them perfect for his grandchildren. Even Gerald’s wife was not permitted to touch them. Gerald’s will specifically stated the entire library he so lovingly built, was to be used by his grandchildren, in orderly fashion, from the oldest to the youngest to read and enjoy, and passed on to the next.

I have no idea why you’re looking this way
We all but you wearing masks today
You stride down the aisle with a sour stare
While we’re all trying to survive and wear.
Yes, sometimes they’re hot and provide no breeze
And rolling a wheelchair makes it hard to breathe
But be obnoxious, throw a conniption fit when asked
While the rest of us pass by when you’re brought to task.

Keep your distance, wear a mask. Mind the safety of others and yourself.

Called the Lemon Queens, were four semi-beautiful daughters of the richest gentleman in the county. His name was Lemon but he also had the largest lemon tree orchard in the state. Jack Lemon had four daughters, all blonde, all with spoiled personalities, earning the sour title of lemon queens with no effort.
Jack had three sons, all sweeter than his daughters, but lackadaisical, and Jack wanted at least one of them to carry on with the lemon farm. Unfortunately, when Jack met his maker, no-one took charge. The queens eventually married gold diggers who relished in the readymade success.

You gave me a direction clear
I see the big arrow here
The problem is, it’s the only one
So where am I and
Where’s the fun?
I’ll stay here just a minute or two
But wonder, where the heck are you?
