The mooring rope stretched too tight, and shredded as it gave way. The ends were wisps of hope, elongated into despair, finally breaking. It only took a day of moving forward, reaching out to each other, a revolution of thought, to help the threads intertwine once more. They persevered and rejoined to steady the vessel in its port.

Tears as I saw the building, the decorum, the 400,000 flags billowing as a statement of remembrance of lives lost to Covid, and the realization that the country will survive. I can finally feel true hope.
My takeaways for performances: Lady Gaga as she sang, so moving, true to herself, but I was disappointed to see JLo was invited. She disgraced herself, imo. The poet laureate was moving and spectacular. Introduction by Kobluchar outstanding.
