The Bag Lady

W for why? Why in the world do all devices and programs want to update every five minutes? I just get used to doing things one way and it’s changed overnight! It is the most frustrating thing to me.

When I had to return to using my android phone the keyboard was changed and I’ve tried everything to get back the one I like. The return arrow has disappeared and now the word next is there. It’s not the same thing! Why?

For example, if using my phone, I wanted to put an emoji here, I couldn’t skip down to type another sentence. If I push next it goes down past the photo or subtitle, not as a return would. Why?🥴

Blogging used to be my days’ beginning, reading everyone’s, writing my own, having a good time doing it. I don’t know what’s happened but I think my creative side was tired of the lockdown, found no inspiration, and just left the neighborhood. I’m sure sleepless nights and being cooped up is part of the reason any muse I might have had disappeared.

Thanksgiving eve was the day he read the ransom note. It had been two days since the perpetrator decided to send his demands to force the small business to complete his plan. The four turkey feathers were a warning. The butcher was ordered to pay one hundred dollars for each turkey and the turkeynapper would release the fowl back into the butcher’s possession. The shop owner was on the edge of distress when law enforcement decided to step in. The full grown turkeys were returned unharmed just in time for butchering.

Hoping some vagrant would cross his path, Joe trekked around the outskirts of the forest. The beauty of the surroundings were never enough to change his frame of mind. Joe considered himself fortunate if he spotted a trespasser on his land, his favorite prey.

Inconstant cooking skills caused discord in their marriage. He tried to remain tight lipped, but the frequent gurgle from his stomach made that difficult. In every dish she used olive oil as a solvent and his pipes were suffering. A dish that used to be yummy now turned into a reverse texture that his digestive system couldn’t handle. The clang of the dinner bell was ringing on deaf ears.

V for volunteer. Using your time to volunteer is the most rewarding use of your mind and body, and costs you nothing. Of course you can donate money to your favorite cause or charity but getting down in the trenches and actually putting yourself to work to benefit others will surprise you. All volunteer organizations need help in different ways. Look around and find some way of putting yourself in a position to offer help.

Probably like you, I surf the streaming channels looking for anything new to watch. I am gifted these channels by my family and it’s a welcome break from all the mostly horrible news channels available every day. Lately I find I click on something that looks good, but end up deleting it after a few minutes. This week I watched the YouTube reunion of ER and if you were a fan when it was on years ago, you would enjoy this video chat reunion. I must say I loved it and am going to rewatch ER again from the beginning.

Raise your hand in worship of the earth before the beauty is gone, before there is no more growth, and the land is blown away by pollution. Take a stand in your neighborhood, be the dogooder. Be a tree hugger, a volunteer for cleaning parks, or your own street. It only takes one person to influence a generation. Start with yourself and your children.
