One thousand fifty-nine miles to go and I’ll be free. No maps, no voice generated apps on this baby, just a clear path to my final destination, home! I gave it my best shot, all the laughing, complimenting fake personalities dressed in the latest fashion, with their plastic pulled back faces and Botoxed foreheads. I tried to be myself, fit in, but after two months of hemming my own personality in trying to be someone else, I failed. It wasn’t worth it to end up like so many wannabe actors in that world.

I wish he chose to part less

Some think he’s just heartless

The timing is subsequent when a woman’s not content

Asking him to move in, share the rent.

He thinks cohabitation a nuisance

At least he’s honest with this nuance.

He never seems lonely

Wants no “one and only”

I doubt he’ll ever relent.
