- Write a ‘prose poem’ in the form of a news article you wish would come out tomorrow (imagine it will come out tomorrow).
Rules
- Format your ‘prose poem’ like breaking news;
- Give it a bold attractive title;
- A beginning/middle/end;
- Make it a Good News account of something that will benefit us all. Use strong, positive VERBS;
- Add enough detail to make it believable/relieve us of some stress;
- Not short, but not too long;

Ron DeSantis, Governor of Florida, announces breaking news… the governor has decided that after attending church on Sunday, that he has been duped by the ramblings of some religious zealots, the KKK, and other known dissidents, and is now backtracking on the blatant prejudiced and bigoted rules he has posed on educational institutions in the state of Florida. He offers a heartfelt apology to anyone he degraded by his speeches and/or actions. MAGA groups, et al, declined to comment.

Seeming to ignore the beautiful sunset, Mike’s girlfriend was absorbed in voice with a new ally she found dressed in an open shirt, brandishing a chest full of musculature. Political discussions aside, Mike knew in advance that Joe would be attending his friend’s party, but had not seen him in a couple of years. Joe was definitely working the women at the gathering, possibly hoping to gain one as a lover? Then Mike saw him turn to see an old acquaintance they both knew in college. Introducing his friend as Charles, he was quickly drawn by Joe’s side and they brushed kisses on cheeks.

Simply Six Minutes
Wanting the perfect wedding was always a dream. College degree, good job, my own apartment, finding the love of my life and then the ultimate “big wedding”. It never occurred to me that this might only be a dream, but since the age of six when I was the flower girl in my sister’s wedding, I dreamed it. Logistics never a thought in my head because I was a goal oriented person and so far at twenty-three, everything was right on schedule. I was just settling in to the perfect job and the chance at a promotion when he walked into my office. You know that time you are busy shuffling paperwork and you feel something in the air that causes you to look up? Well I did, and there he was…every goal so carefully planned, left my mind. Later as we decided to spend our lives together, the wedding went beautifully!

“I could just scream!” Sue was beyond couth and had to enact the loud protest as she once again read the news. Every day it seemed to radiate hate and lies. There was no attempt by the justice department to hinder these ridiculous outbursts from elected officials.
“It’s a provision of free speech” her brother replied, quietly sipping his morning coffee ignoring her tirade.
“Free speech my a—! I can’t even believe you are my relation!”
