This mother’s son, followed a service to the greater good. A tragedy, but he tried so hard and lost his life because of it. Today we need to follow his example.
“Bury me with the lies I told” – written outside the envelope. It was addressed to me – I wondered why. I barely knew her, and what I did know was not pleasant. I met my new mother-in-law three years after my “real” mil died of cancer five days after I married her only son. Tragically, we had two days after the ceremony to travel and meet her. Then less than three years later I had a new (Cruella deVille) mother in law. Then my husband a new half brother and a half sister on the way. All this surprising but then communications weren’t easy. Our children were pushed away from them as grandparents and no one stopped this. I ripped open the envelope, thinking maybe it was an apology. I was wrong of course. She kept her lies and I gladly buried them.
A sorry definition of our ongoing troubles in Minnesota, after failing at other states, is the consistency of Trump’s power to ruin our United States of America. Armed thugs, masked and ready to spray protestors, break them down, and even take their lives! are on the move. They take children, even an infant and harm them physically, not to mention the mental damage to young minds. This needs to stop! This has been done in other countries and wars resulted. Please don’t let it get that far. Speak up!
Call of the barnyard alarm, the rooster, sounded and Joe decided to roll out of bed even though it was still dark outside. This was the perfect time to harvest the ripe sour cherries before the birds woke up. As the minute the sour cherry tree was ready, the birds knew to descend and in a few minutes, no cherries left for his pie.
The formerly hidden cave figures decided it was time to end the enigma that surrounded their group. The end of chaos could not be achieved and harmony was now a disappointing effort, though well meant by their made up society. Dressed in rough hewn gunny sack fabric robes, the only exposed skin on their forms were their faces. Necks were covered in layers of blue hued beads, enough to bind the color’s meaning to dwell in sorrow at the state of the world.
Come gather ’round people Wherever you roam And admit that the waters Around you have grown And accept it that soon You’ll be drenched to the bone If your time to you is worth savin’ And you better start swimmin’ Or you’ll sink like a stone For the times they are a-changin’
Come writers and critics Who prophesize with your pen And keep your eyes wide The chance won’t come again And don’t speak too soon For the wheel’s still in spin And there’s no tellin’ who That it’s namin’ For the loser now Will be later to win For the times they are a-changin’
Come senators, congressmen Please heed the call Don’t stand in the doorway Don’t block up the hall For he that gets hurt Will be he who has stalled The battle outside ragin’ Will soon shake your windows And rattle your walls For the times they are a-changin’
Come mothers and fathers Throughout the land And don’t criticize What you can’t understand Your sons and your daughters Are beyond your command Your old road is rapidly agin’ Please get out of the new one If you can’t lend your hand For the times they are a-changin’
The line it is drawn The curse it is cast The slow one now Will later be fast As the present now Will later be past The order is rapidly fadin’ And the first one now Will later be last For the times they are a-changin’
