Greg’s 4 Line Fiction – Politicos

Yes we keep on the straight and narrow, never bending to others’ wishes. Occasionally we spike a finger or two but certainly try not to cause harm. We never wander into new ideas, or try new things. We like to keep you on your toes, look ominous and cause fear.

Fine art America

I strive to be seen

Through your favorites’ screen

I rise up and greet

But no one wants to meet

My presence…for I am a weed

Started just like the others, from a seed

My form may not be your idea of pretty

As others grown here, but please take pity

On me and others you choose to despise

We all need a place to live our lives.

There’s ART and then there’s:

“A chunky grey staircase thrusts out from the side of a new office tower in Los Angeles, lunging towards a rail line before jerking back on itself and lurching up the building in jagged twists and turns. It crashes into a warped lattice of bands that wrap around the glassy hulk, swooping past corner windows that jut in and out like broken teeth. This is (W)rapper, “an outrageous creative office tower”, in the words of its leasing agents, set to “reawaken the Los Angeles skyline”. It is also the bombastic tombstone of a bygone era, a carbon-guzzling monument to a time when architectural ego trumped the interests of people and planet.”

Classic Song Beginnings

“Norman Greenbaum’s 1969 hit, “Spirit in the Sky” is one of the most memorable songs of the classic rock era. Released as part of his 1969 album of the same name, “Spirit in the Sky” reached the top three on the Billboard charts, where it remained for 15 weeks, has remained quite popular in the decades since.” extrachill.com

Six Sentence Story

Marie acted the coquette as she slipped behind the screen. This was her way of seduction, making sure the gentleman was able to peer through the perfectly placed lace panels. Then she slowly, deliberately took her time removing one piece of clothing at a time, arranging the discarded garments over the top of the screen, and then daubed cologne on various pressure points to increase the enticement. By the time she stepped from behind the screen, he was full of anticipation. Marie whispered, “My love, shall we have dinner”, and their appetites were soon satisfied.

The Sunday Whirl

Her mind was raw, her body bone-weary, and the rushes to believe the scandals, even from whom she thought of as friends, was too much. She could hear their whispers, spiraling the layers of supposed secret truths. They landed light as a feather on her shoulders but left a permanent non healing scar.

MLMM Saturday Mix

She gritted her teeth and began the climb. This wasn’t the first time she had fallen out of the chair, and probably not the last. She of course knew better than to bend down low to retrieve something she dropped. It had started to be more frequent as arthritic fingers refused to cooperate. If she left it on the floor she’d probably just roll over it and cause a bigger mess, but she was really looking forward to it. When taking the foil covering off the mini peppermint candy, the chocolate disk popped out to the floor. She was short and the chair was too. She wasn’t exactly hurt, yet. Foolishness aside, she now had to figure a way to get back up into the chair. She placed the chair against the cupboards, locked the wheels, and shifted to a closer position. She could do this, had to, because no way was she calling 911 to say she’d fallen and couldn’t get up. Her grandson, a firefighter, told her that many of their calls are for that reason. Her arms were strong, legs useless, but determination was her savior.
