Their one-eyed neighbours, the Arimaspians, battled them for these riches.

Jonesy painted her long pointed nails a blood red as usual, to the dismay of her reticent husband Charlie. He never liked to see severe colors on her. Her manner alone was enough to make you immediately look around for someone to trust.

Jonesy was a bucket of evil and anyone wise enough, gave her a wide berth. A “regular” person was never a match for her because her demeanor alone would wilt their resolve. The daily chore of Charlie was to follow, do as he was told and be quick about it. He was her mate on paper only. He was her accountant, and the only person she trusted in her line of work.
