TLT/Only 100 Words

No subtlety in this neon sign describing perfectly, my dilemma. The private club offered discreet romantic connections which beckoned my lonely heart. My paid for companion was tall dark and handsome! If only I had not woken up in the middle to discover I had been drugged. My “dream lover” sitting too near, taking up my personal space with his considerable hairy bulk, and smelling of alcohol and sweat. I stumbled out as quickly as I could and remembered the saying if it seems too good to be true, it is.

Private Club Conversation

“I say Beasley, did you see that documentary film on dogs as authentic business colleagues on CNN? It was about as ridiculous as the Tramp interview! Apparently it was shown right after that prominent guy over there in the US, Tramp something? I say Beasley, the US consumption of what some call fake news is overwhelming. You would think CNN would not be putting a blue ribbon on the Tramp interview, but what do I know, really? I think BBC is the only one to watch!”

Six Sentence Story

Bright red, shiny enough to blind you in the sun, and four wheel drive. Joe had to pick options and since he was wanting to travel in the mountains, he would need it. High open mountain passes were a challenge and he needed to learn the safe way to drive them in winter. The oversized bed on the truck would hold all of his and his friend’s skiing gear and more. Tents, backpacks, coolers and extra warm clothing and bags were stacked there also. However, the main problem now for Joe is figuring out how to pay for gas to fill this gorgeous guzzler.

Simply Six Minutes – The Dog

***

Sue thumbed through the catalog with disinterest because other purchases from this company didn’t solve problems they were supposedly designed for. But she needed something…she tried alarms, and screening cameras on her doors, one in back and one in front. Sue tried asking the police for more neighborhood patrols at night but the city was not big enough for such “luxuries” as they referred to them.

“Is it a luxury to want to be safe?” she had protested, but as most things, found she could not “fight city hall”. Sue was a reasonable person, but had received threatening notes under her door, accompanied by hang up phone calls and after a couple of weeks of this, she was at her wit’s end. Sue thought she knew the source of the notes but couldn’t seem to prove anything to the extent needed for police intervention.

Then she turned the page to find the “dog”…
