Excerpt from Claytoonz:

“Republicans have refused to call for Trump to end his campaign and he has four indictments with 91 criminal charges. Even Kevin McCarthy can’t muster up the courage or balls to call for criminal imposter George Santos to resign, who has been charged with 13 counts of wire fraud, money laundering, theft of public funds, and making false statements to Congress.

The reason there are criminal charges against Senator Robert Menendez and not for President Joe Biden is because there’s evidence against Menendez and NONE against Biden.”

Sammiscribbles Weekend Writing Prompt

Tripping deftly over the slippery stones, Tom thought for a moment he had won the bet. It was the shallower edge of the river and he felt confident. Tom looked back over at the trickster on the other side whose sneer showed disappointment. He flicked his hand causing a maelstrom—“how do you plan to get back?”

Weekend Writing Prompt #330 – Maelstrom

MLMM Saturday Mix

She tried to not see them, furry gray fingers pulling at the bark, trying to widen the hole she slipped into. Soon it would succeed and she would once again be the slave. She wiggled back through the tree’s trunk, trying to keep away from those gray claws. She pleaded with the fairies to help her and then she was magically standing behind the grove of trees, well away from the gray thing’s grasp. Her wings suddenly repaired and she could fly! And she flew far away.

Puppets

A falsehood floating here, seen as a sunny sky, no storm in sight. We have no hunch of the impending shower or the hate filled node under the façade. The crowd only reveres beautiful white clouds in a sea of blue, as their puppet strings manipulate them.

Fandango’s Flashback Friday

Ramblingsofawriter2016 Poetry Challenge #24 10-23-18

It’s in my nature

As a wilderness lover

To reap the wonder

Feel presence of the unknown

And the fulfillment of dreams

Thanks, Dan!

This is going to be a rant. So buckle up, lest you lose your place. The manager of my complex, I think wants to be a Jolly Molly and not do her actual job —being a manager. She bounces around all smiley when ever out of her blinds closed office that is never open. The numbers on the door and paperwork do not even ring—I am serious!

Today she brought around a paper to sign with my writing about what needs to be fixed. I said the oven never has the right temperature to hear her reply as if I am a 100 year old and incompetent, “well appliances aren’t built like they were in the old days and I doubt if they could fix it”.

What? Besides the fact being in a new complex built less than two years ago with all new appliances which should all work perfectly, I was starting to boil. Talking down to anyone is not acceptable ever! This is only one of the concerns that have been brought up to her, (most people who read me know about the dog poop thing) she refused to address— because you know, it’s a manager’s job.

Rant over for today. I don’t know what’s up with landlords or managers these days.

W3 – Reunion

  • Write a poem inspired by the following quote:

“And in that moment, I swear we were infinite.–Stephen Chbosky (b. 1970), The Perks of Being a Wallflower. You may choose to include the quote itself in the poem or not.

three months separate

anticipation brewing

blush at the meeting

our arms suddenly entwined

“moment…we were infinite”

Classic Song Beginnings

“The most successful commercial version, recorded in 1964 by the British rock band The Animals, was a number one hit on the UK Singles Chart and in the US and Canada. Like many folk songs, “The House of the Rising Sun” is of uncertain authorship. Musicologists say that it is based on the tradition of broadside ballads, and thematically it has some resemblance to the 16th-century ballad **The Unfortunate Rake”, yet there is no evidence suggesting that there is any direct relation.”
