PROMPT WORD: ACCESS

***

Access means a lot more to me the last twelve years than it did before then. I now have no access to stairs unless carried up by one of my strong grandsons or pulled up one at a time in a wheelchair. Even handicapped apartments supposedly arranged with bars in showers and bathrooms for access are not completely safe. They get slippery and the bench seat I use gave me a particular thrill ride when soapy residue sent me sliding off, luckily into my hastily grabbed wheelchair. There are efforts to provide access and elevators in new buildings and all of “seated” appreciate them. It’s a bit funny thinking about it and I definitely need to use my sense of humor.

Daily Prompt – JusJoJan the 21st, 2024

3TC – Inconceivable!

Your three words today are:
FENCE HEDGE WALL

People, humans, persons, folks, citizens, everyone—deserve a safe place to live. No wall, fence or hedge should obstruct an individual from obtaining that right. The idea of US governors shipping people on buses like cattle is the most disgusting thing allowed here in the US! They are not people any more, they are livestock traveling to unknown places to be “placed” like dogs in shelters. The difference being the dogs actually get food, water and a place to safely stay. These governors remind me of the Holocaust.

Sammiscribbles Weekend Writing Prompt

He started out the morning
Taking a chance
With no warning
He wanted the note to be romantic
No words that feel like antics
But needing to be sincere
Also wanting to be clear
Love was definitely on his mind
So started with this line:
My dearest sweetheart
I give my heart…
Then erased it all
Too familiar words a pall
True feelings are hard expressed
Wanted them to be the best.

Weekend Writing Prompt #347 – Note

Fandango’s Flashback Friday

Picture Prompt-49 1-29-17

She looked over her shoulder. Yes, he was still watching her. Of course that’s what she wanted. That’s why she wore this dress, showing off her tattoos. Anyone interested in her because of the drawings was someone she wanted to meet. Her life story was painted on her body. Not her real life, but her fantasy life, the one she wanted to live. She endured the pain of the needle, hoping the results would finally sweep her away into them. Of course it wouldn’t really happen, but as each tattoo was blazoned on her body, she would try to wish herself into them.

He was still looking at her, couldn’t take his eyes off her! She was certainly beautiful, but those tattoos! He would love to see all of them, every painting on that beautiful body. She looked right at him. She knew he was interested. It was as if there was a silent connection.

He was interested. She could feel his curious interest in his gaze. Maybe if she turned around and started toward him….

Unbelievable, he thought. She’s coming over! Their attraction was equally exciting.

As she grew closer he smiled. “Care for a drink?” he asked. They left the street carnival and went into the cafe.

Here are this week’s prompts: Write a post inspired by the word season.

***

Life late in the season may seem sad to some but it has many benefits. Young people in the spring of life are anxious to “get on with it” and I was one of those eager naive minds but I was lucky to have friends to help me. I enjoyed my summer season with being the best mother and wife I thought possible. When I hit the autumn part of my existence I excelled. I was doing new things, finding myself and learning to believe in myself. Then a few sad unpredictable things happened, and I sort of drifted a few years until where I find myself now. I have to add that this blog is a reflection of my seasons so far and I appreciate how lucky I was and am still.

3TC

Your three words today are:
CATAPULT CAST RIBBON

Reddit

Sara wanted the blue ribbon one could be awarded at the catapult booth. She had wanted it for the past ten years living and working in the circus. Some might think it an extraordinary life, but it was getting boring to Sara. She had practiced as much as possible and thought her new secretly obtained Kevlar body suit would save her from the most terrible injuries. After practically begging her boss at the “Flying Circus” venue, he decided to try her out. Her last words were advice: “Do not buy Kevlar at the dollar store”.
