Simply Six Minutes

I’m not really into small pets
The love of them I don’t get
A cat or kitten man be cute
But small dogs? I’ll stay mute
Well not for long it’s obvious
But the dog above- ridiculous
Dogs don’t like to be dressed
Or have their faces messed
They’re descended from wild wolves
It seems to me they’d be behooved
If all you did was love and feed
For clothes and bling the have no need

dVerse Poets Haibun Monday

So today’s word to include in the body of your quadrille is “imagine” – or you may use a form of the word.

Having a huge attic of immeasurable treasures, imagination was rampant in my childhood.

detective with a round spy glass
ballerina dancing in music class
the possibilities amass
when you imagine
riding horses as old cowboys
quiet reading was always a joy
tented blankets on the floor
listening to victrola seventy-eight scores
what child could ask for more?

Here are this week’s mixed bag of questions:

1. What is the first thing you think of when you hear the word “cuddly”? Soft blankets.

2. Would you like to own an exotic pet? If so, what? I had an Amazon yellow nape parrot and he was an amazingly intelligent and wordy pet, with the personality of a three year old.🙄

3. If you were suddenly gifted £1000/$1000, what would you do with it? Pay bills.

4. Do you wear slippers at home? Since I don’t walk I usually wear thick slipper socks at home.

Gratitude: I am so grateful this week that our high school girls’ basketball team made a comeback, playing beautifully against a more mature and masterful team.🏀♥️

Six Sentence Story- Game

***

The game right now is girls’ high school basketball. The team is comprised of some less fortunate students and this game is an outlet. The game supplies emotional support as well as self esteem. “Only a game” is not the mantra here in this city. Pride in themselves no matter their personal circumstances is in the game. Next time you choose to attend a game, think about the individuals who against many odds, fight together to win.
