PROMPT WORD:  WRECK
***

The woman staggered out of her car after the wreck she caused while fixing her hair yelling, “I look a wreck!” in the rear view mirror and ran her car up on the curb. The police came, put her in handcuffs and said, “well you’ve wrecked your car, it’s not going to drive now.” Another policeman came up and said, you’ve also wrecked the stop sign! That will be a charge of (w)reckless driving at least, maybe even jail time.” Suddenly her husband came to the scene and reprimanded his wife, “another wreck, you’ll lose your license now.” The woman started crying, mumbling, “this accident will be the last straw and wreck my marriage”.

Sunday’s Six Sentence Story Word Prompt!

MLMM – Color

Greetings, everyone!

Am sure every one of us has at some point familiarized themselves with colour associations and comparison, in our daily lives as well as our literary ventures. One of the most famous ones is ‘feeling blue’.

This week, for Sunday confessionals, I would like you to do your own exploration on what ‘feeling blue’ reads and looks like. Explore it from a known perspective created by yourself, explore its unconventional meaning, assign it a new one or pick another colour entirely and create about ‘feeling red’ or ‘feeling purple’ or any colour.

“Deliberation” by Mario Sanchez Nevada

Colors surround us every day, some darken or lighten our mood. This woman is in extreme blue because she is in pain, both mental and physical. Her body in red and yellow patches tries to stay calm, but her head is pounding, and she’s sobbing. Green blues are an attempt at soothing, surrounding her in peaceful hues. She tries to shield herself from the strong black spikes but smaller ones invade her head.

I’m sure the artist has other ideas😉

Sunday Confessionals : Colour Theory

The Sunday Whirl – Transformation

Two hearts a quiver, tentative limbs reaching out, as wolves gather and their howls agree. Long yellow flower strands are scattered around the two while three still in human form set down bags of fruit for the celebration. An old woman twirls around the bonfire as streaks of wolf fur start to engulf her body. The young ones’ transformation begins.

The Unicorn Challenge

Joe pulled in to the parking lot, looked around and shook his head. It would take him hours to find this one customer’s apartment! He drove home and his wife greeted him with “you’re home early, hard day at work, honey?”
Joe sighed and said “just the usual…”
When Joe walked into the office the next day he was yelled at by his boss, “You never showed up at the customer’s home! Where were you?”
Joe just put down his coffee, and said, “I’m allowed to make my own mental and emotional health a priority. I quit!” Joe gathered his belongings and left.

I could never say yes to: here, would you try this: shrimp, clams, oysters, lobster, habanero chili, steak tartare, sushi? I guess that’s about all food wise. I should not have said yes a few years ago to ice skating, water sliding down a tube with big drop in middle, riding a three wheeled scooter over a speed bump, a second back surgery after the first one failed, believing any doctor without proof, and the list goes on.

MLMM Conspiracy Theories

Trump and Vance
doing their dance
with a hopeful chance
they might advance
into the white house once again
then they’ll put all non wasps into pens
or send them all on boats with no end
in sight—they have no rights
because they’re not white.
Then we’ll see women bow down
children indoctrinated with specific nouns
life turned into prewar towns
all when these two clowns
decide our current way to live
is filtered through their sieve
ruling, choosing not to forgive
so cast your votes with ease
read all candidates’ pleas
ignore Trump and Vance’s sleaze
who can’t see the forest through the trees
and want us to be on our knees.

SoCS 9-21-24

It is Friday and I am here with your Stream of Consciousness Saturday prompt. I haven’t been sleeping well the past week or so, and last night was the worst. Must be the weather. I’m blaming everything else on the weather these days, so why not that? By the way, the prompt is a repeat. I used it nine and a half years ago. Here’s this week’s prompt:

Your Friday prompt for Stream of Consciousness Saturday is “peace/piece.’” Use one, use them both (for bonus points), use them any way you’d like. Enjoy!

First thought was the Jerry Seinfeld show with the outstanding cast and this meme with Jerry Stiller playing George Costanza’s dad:

A longer funnier version of this scene is in the bloopers.😂. Even years later, these actors rule!

Random Word Story 41

Sara was sensitive to incessant television ads on her regular broadcast news. She watched certain news outlets and they would pull her into the subject like blades of gravity. Even her vacation at this beautiful inn could not draw her away from various screens, which she brought with her. A computer, iPad, iPhone, android tablet and earbuds. There was no moving forward for Sara, her mind was like a deserted houseplant, starving for some real nourishment. Instead it was mostly 24 hour Fox News.

A case of the pucchips, I believe.” “What? Hiccups?” “No, Madame, certainly not. I am referring to something missing on your computer.” “Then will “pucchips”fixthe problem? I haven’t been able to log onto any social media.” “That is my observation, yes.” “So how do I fix it?” “My dear woman, you are not capable of repairing this problem, and if I’m perfectly honest, neither can I.” The woman sighed, hoping this however snobbish clerk, would remedy her computer problems. “Guess I’ll just have to mail it back to Apple.” “If you wish, but I could have my assistant try something,” and took her laptop to the back room, returning about five minutes later.” The woman paid her bill and returned home. That evening she opened her computer to read the latest posts from her Facebook friends. It seemed at first all was well and then up popped a tiny fluorescent green figure. It seemed to be looking straight at her and was quite animated. It jumped around over the screen and then looked as if it was reading all the messages. It seems the computer store had been designated as one of thousands of secret satellite Facebook stations that collected people’s private information through little green creatures known as pucchips.
