Cyranny’s 1MinFiction

There he was, escaping the din, waiting for his ship to come in. No ship will arrive of course, maybe a donkey or fine white horse. It could possibly be a magical cape, certain to hide him invisibly draped. But in this everyday terrain, it is probably a train. What adventures for him do you see? Why lots of course, ’cause they include me!

FFftPP – Broken Burglar

“Georgie, you know how I hate exercising, and the weights? Too much too soon, buddy. I only got out of the joint a few days ago!”

“Look, if we’re going to do this next gig, you need to be in shape! No more scaling rooftops when you’re looking like you do now!” Georgie shakes his head in disgust. “I know that food ain’t great, hell, I’ve been there! Remember when the cops arrested me back in ’79, with that bag of cash? That was stupid, but a few years inside didn’t come close to the shape you’re in. Did you even go out in the yard?”

“Are you kidding? After Big Joe Joppler tuned me up the second day, they let me stay inside.”

“Well that explains it. No exercise, cooped up eating all those cheap starchy meals, just look at you. Damn! And we have a job lined up for next week. I guess you’ll have to drive. No way you’ll be doing any tricky outside moves. Here, at least put the sneakers on and take a walk.”

Dr. Tanya’s Five – Burgers

Out and about today with my daughter, we went to Wendy’s drive through. The burger was delicious and their peach lemonade hit the spot! Yum!

Houston Highways

I was chatting about “the High Street” at https://pensitivity101.wordpress.com and asked her about the use of “the” in front of the street name. I hear it referred to in British programs. She informed me it means a main road. That reminded me of driving on the high streets of the interchanges in Houston, Texas. The very highest road was curved and everyone was still driving seventy plus mph, even semis! I don’t know how many made that curve safely, but look out below!

Once I knew all the names for the roads, I navigated the city easily. I really like driving and in Houston you rarely get honked at. People stopping, tires rolling off, trash falling out, people going from lane one to lane four with no signals, anything goes! But that one high curved road always made me nervous.

What day is it anyway?

Actually it started out early, with the person above me resetting his vibrating phone alarm over and over. It was chilly so just stayed under the covers for a bit.

Showered, and ready to take the trash, mail a few thank you notes for my birthday gifts and do laundry. Exciting, eh?

I have an inordinate fear of spiders. I don’t even like seeing pics of them. I have a spider stain on my bedroom wall left there as a warning to any creatures of their fate if they invade my territory.

I must have picked up a huge one on my outdoor run for when I was folding my towels, saw a big brown one. And I’m talking big! My dilemma- should I shake him off to brown carpet where I’ll lose him? Yikes!

Panic set in and I shook him off the towel to keep him off my bed. If I had lost him on my bed I’d never get on it again–FEAR!

I scooted out to the kitchen to get my hand held vacuum and luckily he was still moving on the carpet so I sucked him up.

I also have a fear of things crawling back out of the vacuum so I went outside and dumped him on the gravel. I still get shivers picturing him. I know it’s ridiculous but it is a never gone childhood fear.

(Shiver)

So how was your day?🤠

dVerse Poets – Prosery

Dwelling in a covered space, the wolf family cuddled against the cold. Their meal was scarce, the cubs still hungry, and the father nudged them closer to their mother. He was on watch, as ever in the shadows, close by. He took pride in his family, being able to protect them, and never despaired their mother would stand by him in a fight.

He looked up through the icy trees, thinking of his youthful days. Glancing back to his children, thinking, in their dreams they sleep with the moon.

MLMM Wordle #206 – First Time Hiker

The day is wet and gray, but it is beautiful, however, seeing the pine needles bouncing from large raindrops. Walking in new ankle boots reflects my inexperience as a hiker and I can feel the starting pain of a blister. As we reach the summit we see the ineffable extended beauty of the Rocky Mountains towering above the vale.
