Sorry for you if you are in this picture, but how stupid do you have to be? Crowding, hardly any masks, and listening to Trump rant again and again! I wish it was unbelievable, but sadly, it is not.

James liked reading the best of all activities his family could afford, and that wasn’t much since James was the age of three. Three years old began his library visits, story telling time, and being able to bring a stack of books home for a week. No matter how many books he brought home on those Saturdays, he was finished reading them all by Sunday night. The rest of the week he would reread them until they were practically memorized.
Tonight he was enjoying a sparse Christmas Eve reading a new library book about King Arthur and his round table of knights. He was getting sleepy and dozed off. Suddenly he woke to see the figures on the pages jump around. The knights were having a joust and James saw it all. He was drawn into the scene and saw himself standing on the sidelines, dressed as a squire! He could hear the crowd chanting for his knight and smelled the horses as he watched the tournament.
A few hours later, James found himself slumped over the book, in his own bed and room. He had received the best Christmas gift he could imagine.

It was going to be a showstopper, everyone agreed with the village plan for the familiar mass effort of the Christmas train fete. The scene was mapped out and the bakers were prepared with all of the earthy spice needed to flavor the edible display. It would be bigger and much better than the year before where the decision to skip the sticky frosting was a sorry slip in their efforts. The train did not hold together well and by the hour of completion, the train was dismantling.
This year it was a showstopper!

It was a spectacular event, everyone cheered
The girls were excited as the canopy appeared
The dad bet the mom they would love the treat
Mom’s were of cleaning and that it wasn’t neat.
Her misplaced thoughts were suddenly suppressed
Watching girls love the bed, now overdressed.

Quixotic you say, I beg to differ
We all badly need a holiday lifter
Hang the wreaths, light the menorah
See what the holidays can offer!

A man with old genes
Was flexing his knees
In a tight pair of jeans
But then he sneezed.
Bent over, started to trip
Heard the sound of a large rip
Flecks of fabric fell all around
The jeans split open, no longer sound.

The black dog followed them home. The grandfather was hesitant at first, remembering the legend about black dogs, but the children were so excited to see the friendly dog, their pleas were too much for the old man. With their parents now gone, the dog was a welcome and needed surprise.
Immediately drawn to the animal, the children scurried to find him a place in the kitchen. An old horse blanket from the barn would serve as a bed and the new member of the family seemed happy to have it.
Even the other farm animals were friendly to the newcomer, which was unusual. The grandfather didn’t want any problems and the children were so happy, he thought the dog must be an unexpected blessing.
That night as the little ones said their prayers, the grandfather knew it was true.

Completed the gist
Of our Christmas list
Now it’s time to rest
We’ve done our best.
