The little things that never fail to make me smile are of course, kids! Having a snow day where we played in the house together, everything from hide and seek to dancing to loud music, marching around like soldiers, all great fun I miss.

The Sunday Whirl 1-17-21

Travelers fresh from the future may look upon these sorrowful days in our world as an untethered plan devised to divide nations. These ne’er do wells dangerously play, dressed up in ridiculous clothes, speak hateful jibes, and text gibberish on media platforms, all to hurt democracy, not to enrich it.

FOWC: Strategy
My strategy for today is to ignore the weather, and news all day long. I’m just having coffee at 9 so that’s a good start. I’ve learned to read the “My Dang Blog”post before holding a cup of coffee. Read here and you’ll see what I mean:
Things That Are Like Other Things

Jujojan 17 – Check
“In these uncertain times, Viking…” stop…rewind…in these uncertain times the check is in the mail is probably heard quite often.
Considering it took two months for my birthday card mailed in September to get to me in November, there’s going to be a lot of it going around.

42 Words – Identity

The color of your skin, eyes, your hair, your body type, your ableness, your language, speech. These are all outside your true identity. This is what most people think of you, their first impression, their judgment of you. How sad is that?

The Daily Spur: Subjective
W C Fields in his day had dubious taste
Andrew Dice Clay’s humor was laced
With words we’re not even used to today
Some comedians have changed their ways
Now anything may be called funny
When you go to clubs, pay the money
Humor and jokes are subjective
Making you laugh is the objective
Everyone makes their own choice
To listen to a certain comedian’s voice.

Homeschooling
Part of the Geography curriculum is getting a box of local snacks to try. This one from Italy.

Word of the Day: Smirk
You know those boys
The ones who smoke cigarettes on the corner
Dressed in tight jeans, muscles bared with sleeves rolled up T-shirts
You know those heartthrob wannabes, acting all cool
Like James Dean with that greasy duck-tailed do
They eye you as you pass by, give you a “I know what you want” smirk
And of course you blush, because you want it too,
Dressed in your furry pink sweater and poodle skirt,
With saddle shoes and bobby socks rolled down as soon as you left the house
You know them well.

MLMM First Line Friday 1-15-21

Gigi assembled her planners, her calendars, her pens, pouches, and post-its before her on the desk and stood over them like a general surveying maps. It hadn’t been easy, the transition from office building to working at home. No matter how she liked being able to relax in comfy clothing and make her own schedule, she missed the interaction.
Part of her job was helping new employees adjust to their surroundings, and now she had to accomplish that task for herself. Bright posters, green plants, and a small fridge added to the atmosphere she wanted to get used to.
She turned on the two computer screens, saw everything worked correctly, and began her day.

REBLOG: Oak
This brave beauty has been buffeted by autumnβs steely breath, robbed of its faded cape. Not one thread clung to shield it from winter chill. Twigs β¦
