Six Sentence Story

Bright red, shiny enough to blind you in the sun, and four wheel drive. Joe had to pick options and since he was wanting to travel in the mountains, he would need it. High open mountain passes were a challenge and he needed to learn the safe way to drive them in winter. The oversized bed on the truck would hold all of his and his friend’s skiing gear and more. Tents, backpacks, coolers and extra warm clothing and bags were stacked there also. However, the main problem now for Joe is figuring out how to pay for gas to fill this gorgeous guzzler.

Simply Six Minutes – The Dog

***

Sue thumbed through the catalog with disinterest because other purchases from this company didn’t solve problems they were supposedly designed for. But she needed something…she tried alarms, and screening cameras on her doors, one in back and one in front. Sue tried asking the police for more neighborhood patrols at night but the city was not big enough for such “luxuries” as they referred to them.

“Is it a luxury to want to be safe?” she had protested, but as most things, found she could not “fight city hall”. Sue was a reasonable person, but had received threatening notes under her door, accompanied by hang up phone calls and after a couple of weeks of this, she was at her wit’s end. Sue thought she knew the source of the notes but couldn’t seem to prove anything to the extent needed for police intervention.

Then she turned the page to find the “dog”…

Fandango’s Story Starter

This week’s Story Starter teaser is:

SHE SEARCHED HER APARTMENT FRANTICALLY TRYING TO FIND IT, BUT IT WASN’T THERE…all this time she spent researching his ancestry, the phone calls, the emails, the library time to find out who he really was and then present it as proof he was not worthy, gone! There was only one explanation—she must have left the folder at the library. She was just getting on her coat to go back to the library when a knock sounded on her door. She hastily flung it open to see…him! He was standing there holding the folder up in the air, and said “looking for this?”

That’s just a taradiddle, no one really thinks a donkey is capable of any significant thoughts! The span of centuries using these animals for laborious jobs proves that! If their intelligence was impactful, their dedication would lessen and you’d have a combination of too strong a will and losing them as “dumb” beasts of burden. It’s a slam-dunk to me—I don’t mingle among the current herd just in case they aren’t the flummoxed animals I perceive. They are known for their strong kicks!

The knight sheathed his sword

The page had now turned

The handmaiden fainted

Her indiscretion a burn

A note had been written

And now all was clear

The knight, indeed smitten

But the king thought it a smear

The king’s anger with punishment was announced

There will be a duel! And the poor knight was trounced.

(A warning to all-if the princess a beauty,

Keep feelings secret, only mind your duty.)
