MMLM Wordle – Soggy Singing

Everyone around us was getting grumpy as we embarked past the restriction/roped area at the fairgrounds. We were a fortunate few who entered the tented area for a concert. Despite the sound of thunder, we hoped the special voucher would let us backstage if the storm came. Before we left the house we took inventory of our backpacks, following our dad’s advice to make a list. Without his assistance, we would have been recipients of soaked clothing, even under the tent. As the rain graduated from light to heavy with hail, even the tent and our heavy rain jackets didn’t help much.

1. Do you use a feather duster for cleaning? I have one with a wand extension.
2. Do you use a washing liquid, ‘ball’ thingie or washing powder? I use the clear and free pods.
3. Do you own anything that has to be hand washed? Yes, but rarely wear it.
4. Do you use, or have you ever used, a laundry service? When our first child was born in 1967, someone gifted us a diaper service, but other than that, only a dry cleaner for my husband’s suits.
Gratitude: My granddaughter turned 17 two days ago and yesterday we had a pie bar party at my apartment. Cannot believe my oldest grandson will be 30 in May. Way too fast☺️

PROMPT WORD: ABSTRACT

I’m more of a Grandma Moses type of art person. Jackson Pollock was well known as a leader in abstract art. I like his “scribbled” works better, but this is interesting. What do you see? I see three bicyclists☺️. Any art that makes you take the time to gaze and think is wonderful.

MLMM Saturday Mix
Welcome to the Saturday Mix – Story Starter, 12 August 2023!
You will be given a sentence to start off your response. It is your choice whether you write using poetry or prose.
Your story starter for this week is: Sarah had been dreading her 47th birthday…

and as she stepped forward, blindfolded by her oldest daughter, she knew what was going to happen. Sarah told her family she wanted no celebration or party, maybe a card or cake, that was all. She smelled something odd, chlorine, maybe? What the dickens? Then the blindfold was removed and she saw a pool, filled with floating pink flamingos and all of her family was either in the pool or standing around in bathing attire. The barbecue was being worked by her husband and brother and a table was spread with pink utensils and plates and pink flamingo balloons were popping around above it all.
“Still feel like you don’t want a birthday gathering,” her daughter asked. Sarah just turned and gave her a big hug, tears in her eyes.
