It’s in my nature
As a wilderness lover
To reap the wonder
Feel presence of the unknown
And the fulfillment of dreams

Thanks, Dan!
This is going to be a rant. So buckle up, lest you lose your place. The manager of my complex, I think wants to be a Jolly Molly and not do her actual job —being a manager. She bounces around all smiley when ever out of her blinds closed office that is never open. The numbers on the door and paperwork do not even ring—I am serious!
Today she brought around a paper to sign with my writing about what needs to be fixed. I said the oven never has the right temperature to hear her reply as if I am a 100 year old and incompetent, “well appliances aren’t built like they were in the old days and I doubt if they could fix it”.
What? Besides the fact being in a new complex built less than two years ago with all new appliances which should all work perfectly, I was starting to boil. Talking down to anyone is not acceptable ever! This is only one of the concerns that have been brought up to her, (most people who read me know about the dog poop thing) she refused to address— because you know, it’s a manager’s job.
Rant over for today. I don’t know what’s up with landlords or managers these days.

“And in that moment, I swear we were infinite.–Stephen Chbosky (b. 1970), The Perks of Being a Wallflower. You may choose to include the quote itself in the poem or not.

“The most successful commercial version, recorded in 1964 by the British rock band The Animals, was a number one hit on the UK Singles Chart and in the US and Canada. Like many folk songs, “The House of the Rising Sun” is of uncertain authorship. Musicologists say that it is based on the tradition of broadside ballads, and thematically it has some resemblance to the 16th-century ballad **The Unfortunate Rake”, yet there is no evidence suggesting that there is any direct relation.”

Love is never a too strong word
But whispered words are never heard
Breathing the scent calms loud herds
Lighting “coffee-whiskey” candles.

Beginning eggplant
Leaning into pumpkin
Tinkling of raspberry
Orange arrives
Competing with strawberry
Golden yellow orb rising
Showing off with peach
Harvest morning glows.
