MLMM Saturday Mix

Joe was an all around guy
He could relate a story easy as pie
Also had a talent for cooking
He could cook eggs without even looking
One day as he was listening to jazz in the park
Watched a soccer game just for a lark Suddenly it started to rain
It rained so hard even a plane
High above he could see with his field glasses
Started diving downward, making low passes
Joe grabbed his phone to call it in
Then it started upward again
Joe realized it must be an air show stunt
Spoke harshly into the phone, being quite blunt
“Can’t you see the kids here playing a game? You’re flying too low, should be ashamed…”

Fandango’s Story Starter

This week’s Story Starter teaser is:

For once,” Quinn thought, “I wish I could get out of my own way.” Quinn was usually hesitant when trying to assert himself in a job interview, but today seemed like his last chance. He needed to do well. Straightening his tie, standing up straight, managing a cheerful smile, Quinn stepped into the office.

Q1. Will you be playing tricks on someone seeing as it’s also April Fool’s Day? Nosireebob🥸

Were you ever a victim of an April Fool’s prank? Sure but very long ago.

Q2. Will it be a normal working day for you? If you call three hours of intensive PT YES!

Q3. If you have children, are they of school age on Easter break, or toddlers? My granddaughters are on spring break.

Gratitude: As ever I am grateful for family help and especially since I was laying on floor with a broken leg and called them and they called 911. I had to have professional help getting up with two spiral fractures in my left leg.

Writer’s Workshop

Here are the prompts for this week’s Writer’s Workshop:

  1. Write a post based on the word radio.
  2. Write a post in exactly 11 sentences.
  3. Tell us why you’re overjoyed that “the one that got away” got away.
  4. Write a list of 5 or 10 sentences that begin with the words “no one ever asked me,” then, write about one of them in detail, or use them all in a poem, or use several in a personal description of yourself.
  5. If you could change the alphabet, what would you do?
  6. Tell us about a day you were sure you wouldn’t get through.
  7. ***

I chose number four since I’m in hospital with broken leg pain and might as well explore other uncomfortable feelings:

No one ever asked me if I was happy. At first I thought I was. I thought my dream came true. No one ever asked, therefore I accepted I was. Perfection was my goal, mostly achieving it while forgetting about the dream part. And for a time it worked.

Not exactly a slide, more of a twist.  My legs tangled but nobody died. Two spiral fractures so eyes began to mist cause I slipped out of my wheelchair two days before. After the injured tailbone it must have caused more because going from chair to chair later I ended up on the floor. A hospital stay for quite a long time and longer rehab down the line. No weight on the leg for at least six weeks, the thought of that gives me the creeps.

Sunday’s Six Sentence Story Word Prompt!

One Liner Wednesday

I saw this quote about responsibility and I disagree with it. Sure, for most things you are responsible for your actions but sometimes fate sends you a wakeup call even when you are self aware.

Maybe my personal accountability is screwed but I don’t think anyone has complete control of their destiny,😵‍💫
