Pistachio

Let’s give Mary from Jingle Jangle Jungle a round of applauds. 👏 She volunteered to be this month’s guest co-hostess.  The final theme for February, Mary is giving you two choices.  The first one is to spell pistachio using Song Titles (or Artists/Bands if you prefer) since it’s National Pistachio Day or  go with number two to build your picks with “leap” or  “jump” song titles since it’s a leap year.

Leap of Faith

SYW 2-26-24

Here are this week’s questions:

1.  How many times have you been a patient in hospital? More than I would like to think.

2.  Did you notice any differences with your experiences?Definitely, from a small town to a huge city medical center to a large city to a small city varies significantly. Probably the worst experience I had was in Southwest hospital in Houston. I think maybe it had needed to be torn down but is where I received radiation therapy after my first cancer.

3.  On a scale of  1 to 5, with 5 being good and 1 being poor, how would you rate food choices, and separately on the same scale, quality? UCDenver hospital my number one choice but Cheyenne is not bad.

4.  How long were you in for? Anywhere from two weeks to a few days not counting a ten day rehab.

Gratitude: I guess with this subject matter that any hospital stay you get out alive is a good one😳😂So I’m grateful for that.

Her logic always seemed simple. Treat the problem from a **mathematical point of view. Using logic in all situations was her specialty. Being a forthright teacher in the school, her students did not vary. The dreamers found other instructors. Miss Peabody’s class attendants were all competent in logical problem solving.

**The hammer-and-nail metaphor was first utilised in the context of conducting scientific research in the 1960’s. Maslow (1966) acknowledged that “it is tempting, if the only tool you have is a hammer, to treat everything as if it were a nail”

Sunday’s Six Sentence Story Word Prompt!

The Sunday Whirl

***

Joe woke up groggy, cursed the sunlight glaring into his eyeballs and checked the time on his watch. Suddenly aware of the woman beside him, her pale beauty triggered a response low in his body that similarly preceded last night’s scene. The night had been a lovely dream space, but the harsh morning light anchored his mind and stirred a passing thought of guilt. He stepped onto the floor slowly and carefully, pulled on his clothes and left.

MLMM Sunday

This week, for Sunday Confessionals, I would like you to create about your favourite, repeating motif – perhaps trying it out under a different light or form, continuing a series, or placing your darlings someplace they were not before.

I am a bird lover and every room in my apartment has bird motifs. I’m highlighting the Magpie here as I think it’s strikingly beautiful even though many people think of it as a noisy pest.

And of course he spilled his coffee again. He gave up on trying to get the stains out of the couch. He just threw another coverlet over it, which he prided himself on that idea since the couch was much softer and comfortable with the extra layers. His mind often drifted into other genius ideas that came to him as he lounged in this room. The mini fridge had been a godsend and that brought him a smile as he thought of the electricity savings not opening and closing the large fridge repeatedly. Then the rolling footstool so that extra energy was not expended to remove it if and when he decided to leave his favorite space. Long straws so neck bending was kept at a minimum and pillows under his arms were available so his body did not have to move unexpectedly. Whenever some enlightened person came up with a way to combine bathroom and living room conveniences, he would truly be in heaven.

SoCS 2-24-24 – No Jonah

You can search hill and dale
looking for a best mate, a male
but I think you would fail
and shattered dreams would prevail.
I’ve often hunted on that trail
and I speak with great detail,
the journey is quick to turn stale,
as if the mate is a holy grail
and all attempts are to no avail.
Others seem to glean and sail
the offered visions of the vale,
landing the elusive whale—
taking strength on an impressive scale,
all perseverances bewailed
certainly be entailed,
but only the successful will tell the tale.
