From Dylan Thomas’ poem: Fern Hill
“And as I was green and carefree, famous among the barns, a favorite haven
About the happy yard and singing as the farm was home, safe and secure
In the sun that is young once only, naïve my mind
Time let me play and be, in rolling green meadows
Golden in the mercy of his means, let my imagination soar
And green and golden I was huntsman and herdsman, the calves, yielded to my adoration
Sang to my horn, the foxes on the hills barked clear and cold, though forest trees always listened
And the sabbath rang slowly, from a natural chapel in a wood
In the pebbles of the holy streams.” peaceful bubbling waters in rambling brooks

**Dylan’s poem reminded me of growing up on a dairy farm but of course his words are elegant☺️💛
MTB: Elaborating Lacunae in the Fragment or Keeping Things Whole
I just wanted to say hi and a big thank you to all the people who challenge us with great prompts every day. I look forward to all and try to get my brain working to respond…sometimes that’s a good thing, sometimes it’s a mangled version of a poem, but all fun and learning to me. People who provide us with prompts and responding to everyone’s efforts takes a lot of time and I appreciate that.
Also, thanks go out to my followers and all who take the time to post a comment or helpful advice. I usually keep my comments very short or I might take up an entire page! I think each blogger has their own preferences on comments, but keep writing them and keep reading—we all appreciate them.

This was part of a series featuring Marion and Mr. Tannenbaum. The installments are posted in 5-2018. I think I’ll bring these characters back, six years in the future.

Step always forward as you see the sun
Realize you will see it tomorrow
A daily reminder this day is done
Set aside your often thoughts of sorrow
Brightness and hope will come on the morrow
Believing in your new wishes and dreams
Will banish current melancholy themes.

A rhyme royal poem, Ten syllables per line, ABABBCC

I chose Robert Frost:

“He gives his harness bells a shake”
This carriage now driven slow by he
Reins lay quiet as he then gives
Them movement, asking forward motion, his
Horse responds to the rubbing harness
Resulting in a chorus of bells
He hesitates, as if asking a
Question…move now? as he feels the shake.
