W3 Prompt #156: Wea’ve Written Weekly

The old man’s voice was just a croak. He was of course a homeless bloke. A rich looking man was passing by. The old man gave a big sigh. The passerby asked if he needed a cloak, and the old man started to cry. “Oh yes, please”, he pleaded, “thank you kind sir”.
“Well, get a job!” and left very quickly as if in a blur!

Three Things Challenge #MM37

Tires screeched as the getaway car raced through narrow streets of the Back Bay. Everyone crowded around, pushing the barriers set up by the film crew. Just as the car zoomed by, many people tried to capture the scene with their phones. They all wanted a picture of Tom Cruise in the car, speeding down the street, but what they got was a blurred photo that showed nothing. Later in the evening, the film crew spread out in the local cafes and restaurants. Tom Cruise appeared for an hour to satisfy his fans and promote the new movie.

I saw an angry moon, not the serene orb of yesterday and I began to wonder if even the moon thought these are precious things and not to be tossed aside. Then I went back inside and ate a big hot fudge sundae with extra toppings.

I am currently reading “Seal Team Six” by Howard E. Wasdin and Stephen Templin. It is read by Ray Porter, my favorite narrator.
Howard E. Wasdin, Stephen Templin
Sphere, 2012 – Biography & Autobiography – 352 pages
SEAL Team Six is a secret unit tasked with counterterrorism, hostage rescue, and counterinsurgency. In this dramatic, behind-the-scenes chronicle, Howard Wasdin takes readers deep inside the world of Navy SEALS and Special Forces snipers, beginning with the grueling selection process of Basic Underwater Demolition/SEAL (BUD/S)–the toughest and longest military training in the world.

What do you see #285- April 21, 2025

If a knight you desire, crave
Joe’s the man you want, but a knave
Dressed up to your delight
Sneaks around in the night
Meeting him, you’ll need to be brave.
