NTT – Happy you’re back☺️✌🏻

(I couldn’t resist…)

Finally he got what he wanted – a crown. It only took a few moments before Elon left the office for good. Trump decided he would also use the secret formulas that Musk had developed with his entourage. He creeped into the oval office and stood in front of this huge mirror, all with the gold trim and drank the potion. It only took about 10 minutes and he was transformed. He was now a big, beautiful, he-man figure. It even came with a crown! When his press secretary entered the oval office, he held up the crown to show her that he finally, truly was a king.

Can you tell a story in 45?

Joe’s upset mother wanted an explanation, seeing her son showing off his gross arm. “It’s not a wart, it’s just a doodle Ruby drew on me. I think you’ve drunk too much gin! Now, calm that temper of yours…see? I can wash it right off.”

Can You Tell A Story In…

dVerse Poets Poetics

For today’s prompt, let’s take a trip to the beach. Choose one of the paintings that follow. Tell us a story (in poem form) about your day at the beach, through the details of the painting. Think about the shapes and structural qualities Picasso incorporates into his work. Include aspects of shape and form in your poem. Please do share with us which painting you’ve chosen.

A sultry day in the month of May

Sisters delight in the ocean waves

Long, beautiful hair released from wraps

Conversation lessens with maybe a nap

Outstretched on the sand, their swimming done

Watching a sailboat that floats in the sun

A far away lighthouse shows the way

When clouds turn dark on sailboat shades

The sisters three gather their things

Beach day is done as a dinner bell rings.

I always thought of Joe as a friend. He was such a quiet man, lived alone, and did good deeds whenever he could. Many neighborhood people would joke behind his back. One day he delivered a letter to me, and I could see that he was struggling with his house keys when he returned home. I walked over to try to help him, and he suddenly he got very upset with me. “I’m not helpless, I can do this by myself.”

I was surprised that he seemed upset with me for trying to help him, but I just returned to my home. I decided to make a pie and take it over to him just to be friendly. I am so glad that I did because when he opened the door and I looked inside I saw that he was a hoarder. Of course this was perfectly legal, but seemed to be crowding him terribly. There was hardly any room for him to come to the door. “I hope you don’t think I am intruding, but can I help you with all of these newspapers?” He didn’t answer and quickly shut the door, taking the pie.

I told the local pastor what was happening and thought maybe he could organize some of the neighbors to help him rid his home of the hoarded items. The pastor has not yet decided if that’s a good idea. I guess I should mind my own business.

MLMM Wordle #427

The Sunday Whirl

We studied the map of the underworld with a tongue in cheek attitude. Joe was the only person in the group who took the temple drawings and the strands (what we assumed were vines) or threads of twisted trees seriously. The mask we found near the cave entrance could have been carelessly dropped by a Halloween wanderer. Not one of us knew the strange claw marks from some imaginary beast would be the shift in our attitude. Joe started to prowl into the cave and then we heard his screams and ran, the cowards we were. Joe was never seen again and not one person in our group ever talked about our adventure ever again. Some cloudy dark nights I swear I hear a call from Joe, but I’ll never go back to that cave to find him.

SYW 6-2-25

Here are this week’s questions:

Can you speak a second language? Regrettably, no

As a child, what did you find easier, climbing a rope or climbing a tree?We had many trees to climb, rarely a rope

Did you prefer maths or science at school? No question, science

How would you describe your sense of humour? Great

Gratitude: With that last statement I have to say there is plenty of humor to find in a hospital setting. Complaints of my not sleeping while woken every little bit for blood draw and the last night I was woken to have them give me an oxygen cannula. I had finally gotten to sleep on the bottom flat part of the bed😵‍💫

dVerse Poets Quadrille

Did you know dVerse created the quadrille form? A quadrille is a poem of exactly 44 words, sans title. It may or may not have a rhyme scheme…..actually, there is no required format except that it be a poem (not prose) of exactly 44 words, sans title. But there is ONE HITCH! You must include the word provided by the pubtender of the day, within the body of the poem.

So….without further ado, I am the pubtender today and the word you must include within the body of your poem is …. SUNRISE.

I am a diehard fan of actor Jeremy Renner so I was waiting for his book, “My Next Breath” to come to audible. I have just finished it and I can say it was interesting, how he got through his accident and survival. I found some of it repetitive, but enjoyed it still.

I started following Renner’s film career back in 2005 with the film, NeoNed. His acting performance in this movie made me look for more of his work after I fell in love with this flawed character. Naturally I was anxious to see if he had recovered well and “My Next Breath” fills me in.

It’s Monday! What Are You Reading? (June 2, 2025) 📚📚

It’s All Good

These past three weeks I have been out of pocket and apologize to my blog friends. I was ill, ended up in the hospital for a week (not fun at all) and now trying to recuperate to have some tests done to see why I was ill. All along these days, my daughter was working and keeping up with the end of soccer for one daughter’s senior year and another daughter’s college graduation in New Mexico, and all the activities that occur in these three weeks while ferrying me to appointments, etc. My younger granddaughter graduated on Friday and will make a trip to Spearfish, SD for college orientation at Black Hills State University. My other granddaughter graduated college in NM. You can imagine all the busyness we have had this month. So I had to delete almost a thousand emails and today I am trying to get back on the horse. Thanks for your good wishes.☺️

Two granddaughters’ graduations.
