She was on a mission. Not the “Blues Brothers’ mission from God”, but a quest, really, to find the ancient tome entitled “Secrets of the Magic Candle”. Jody had been to all the other booksellers in this area, even perusing the junk shops, only to be disappointed.
It was the Mystical Candle Maker’s Society that encouraged her on this venture. Her group made candles holding mystical qualities, fake gifts for hopeful, misguided persons to burn and dream upon.
There were no actual potions involved in their melting. . .yet. That is why she had to find the book with the recipes.

I shared my love of “Outlander” in my previous post of FOWC’s Noble, but watching Sunday’s episode was heartbreaking. Of course the production chose to magnify the scenes with background music I consider the saddest song ever composed: “Adagio for Strings”.

This music has been used in “Platoon”, “Lorenzo’s Oil”, and “The Elephant Man” and more. I can never listen to it without crying. I was saying this to my daughter on Sunday and then today on the Google news, it had an article saying the same thing. I guess I’m finally “not the only one” or I was hacked! : ))
I watch “Outlander” through a Starz app on my iPad. I’ve read passages from the book series, and a character I would categorize as noble is Lord John Gray. He walks in a room and both ladies and men swoon–for good reason – he’s not only gorgeous but worthy of the description “noble”. Probably only in books can you be both, but he is very enjoyable : ).

That was some party, right, Joe?
What I can remember of it, anyway…is that Mike under there?
Yeah, I recognize those hairy legs.
And who is that on the other side?
That’s Jack. Remember he brought his twin 13 year old boys with him? They’re currently sleeping in the next room.
So Comic-Con over and who’s responsible for cleaning this up?
The toilet paper? That was all Jack’s boys. Let’s go pull the fire alarm and wake them up!
The two hangovered “adults” ran down the hall laughing.

I stayed up last night, waiting for you to come home. I knew you might not come at all, our life has altered so. The light of our love, our relationship–the looks, the laughing, the touching, all gone like a dry autumn leaf, drifting away in the wind.
I thought I saw your shadow in the moonlight, coming up the front walk. I only dreamed it. It must be time for me to face the fact you are forever gone.

I have to admit they were cheap,
But advertised as “top of the heap”
So I gave them a try
Now I’ll just cry
Money spent on a disaster
Teeth just made of plaster!
I seriously think I have been robbed
After I bit into my corn on the cob.

I am sitting here
Waiting, watching
I see the others have almost made it to the top
Coming to comfort me
You are floating, your wings look heavy, but you will make it.
Our goodbyes and love yous echo in the clouds
Safe journey.
