W3 Prompt #175: Wea’ve Written Weekly

Hey George, notice anything funny in the back seat?
Nah, I think it’s almost Halloween, probably just a mask!
I think our driver is scared, look at his face! He must not like dogs, especially big ones. All our brothers just seem mesmerized by the road ahead…are they all thinking it’s a real dog and scared, too?
I don’t know Harry, but I’m just going to keep looking straight ahead like everyone else. I don’t want to start any trouble. Maybe the dog just needed a ride too. Our stop is coming right up. Let’s get out fast.

bouncing back
life turns upside down
go with flow
mantra for my survival
no more making waves myself
–
pastime years
temper flared so easily
now better
resist speaking up in groups
writing is now my loud voice

My Prompts 1- WDYS

look out my window
patio with empty pots
though hope sees blossoms
feelings of promise in vine
not nourished and still striving

I love plants and miss flowers I could not afford this year, so pots stand empty. I thought this bit of green was a weed, but now I think it is part of a honeysuckle plant I had in this pot last year. It seems Im surrounded by a discouraging world and this plant gives me hope.

Joe walked into the birthday/anniversary party, a bonus because they were married on her birthday. A celebration was indicated by all the balloons, even a banner with happy words displayed on it. Many ribbons, cards and even candles were displayed to enhance the atmosphere. In the center of the presents, a tall cake was dripping frosting from the candles. Joe, with his usual take on anything celebratory, grabbed his reluctant wife and started dancing wildly. Apparently Joe had already done some celebrating.

The teacher stood angry, said “well?
Don’t you have anything to tell?”
Susan’s eyes looked down
Her red face a frown
“Sorry I don’t know how to spell”.
