I am a widow since 2013 and live by myself in a small apartment. I use a wheelchair to get around, but I wouldn't consider myself disabled. I'm 11 years away from having bladder cancer resulting in a urostomy and I'm doing well. This cancer was a result of having radiation in 1995 because of uterine cancer. So have faith in yourself, a cancer diagnosis is not a death sentence. My first try at blogging was an attempt to help other people with my condition. I am a mother of three married children, and a grandmother to eight gorgeous kids, featuring them often here, and a great grandmother to two as of today, 6/7/25! I enjoy exploring my feelings and like to try the challenges. I like humor, music, movies, games, and some sports. I absolutely appreciate your reading and commenting on my blog. I am happy to read all of your blogs and learn more about you. Please comment however you like, ask whatever, and I'll answer honestly. Thanks for reading! Cheryl

Evil Doings
“She’s toxic!” Mike exclaimed, twisting the button on his sweater nervously.
“Not to me.” Joe replied dreamily and conversely.
Cold air started to sweep in with heavy gloom
Mike gathered his coat when evil began to loom
A shiver shook Joe when she entered the room
But he smiled, looking forward to the evidence of doom
Mike took hold of Joe and tried to push him away
It was too late, the spell already took him astray
Mike often thinks fondly of his best friend Joe
Won’t forget when she took him—covered in evil glow

Believing breakfast is the most important meal
I’m sure it has a certain appeal
However I can’t possibly concur
It’s needed for a healthy daily spur
Ooh, that bacon smell is through the roof
I think it may be the needed proof
So I now say, breakfast should be eaten
Because enjoying bacon can’t be beaten.

“One tiny step for my appetite and one giant leap of no weight control” Joe said, laughing as he wolfed down bites of sweet desserts after the huge Thanksgiving feast. Everyone laughed but it really was no joke. Joe needed to curb his eating habits before his health deteriorated more. He just smiled at them and continued on to the salty offerings during the after meal football games.

Question Time
Have you ever been on an extended vacation/holiday road trip?
The last long trip/actual vacation was a trip to Hawaii. It was wonderful. For the first three days we stayed in Honolulu and the next eleven days in a condo in Oahu. Heavenly!
When was the last time you visited an actual bookshop, and what, if any, new/old/secondhand titles did you buy?
Secondhand book shops are where you can find treasures, but Barnes and Noble is a family favorite.
How do you feel about the new WP Dashboard 7-day highlights Statistics?
I don’t like it or the constant changes they make.
How do you feel about all the Russian nuclear sabre rattling?
This is nothing new. Putin wants the old USSR back and he won’t stop.
If you could go back or travel to an age of your choice and live or relive a previous era for a day, what age would you pick and why?
I like reading about it but I wouldn’t like actually living in a different time, i.e. Victorian era.
Do you have a favourite coat? [Outdoor/Indoor/Business/Social] What makes it unique to you, OR is a coat just a coat?
I actually hate coats. I don’t like the heaviness or restrictions wearing them.
Do you enjoy learning something new every day or week?
Who doesn’t?
Are you more comfortable in your skin today than you were in the youth of your yesterdays?
Definitely, even though it’s wrinkled and saggy.🙄
When did you first start to journal your life?
I don’t unless you could call my blog a journal.
How do you feel about Eggplant/Aubergine/Guinea Squash as a vegetable? Is it something you enjoy having in your meals?
I like most vegetables, but to me eggplant is tasteless without a lot of additional ingredients.
What film could you watch over and over again and why?
I like watching the Marvel movies more than once or some fast action films to see what I missed the first time.
What concert, show, or event would you love tickets for if you could get them?
Chris Stapleton, but I’m not comfortable in that “scene” anymore.
Would your teenage self be impressed with who you are today and what you have achieved so far in your/their life?
I doubt it.
