Looking for Something?

I cannot recommend watching Emily Blunt enough who is outstanding in this role. Chaske Spencer I loved also and the story as a whole. Watch them in the Prime series”The English” and let me know what you think of it. One part has the saddest song I’ve ever heard, by Mazzie Star, “Into Dust”. It didn’t help that while hearing this song I received a call that an old friend had just been killed in a car crash. I had to turn off the song.😭

One Book More

I’m currently listening to another VE Schwab book titled “Vicious” and I have two books I am waiting for coming out in 2023 that I’m looking forward to, next in series I’ve followed. Today I’ll highlight Don Winslow’s series about policing, drugs and drug cartels:

“The Dawn Patrol” was my favorite—lighter than the others but others here I think are important because of the insight they give. There are many to choose from and I’m not done with Mr. Winslow yet.

Prompt: And [blank]

***

And then he knew

It was true

Made him think

My face turned pink

It was after all

My own call

The particular paper

With perfumed vapor

The distinctive ink

Completing the link

And he smiled as he knew

‘‘Twas me who drew

That perfumed heart

Wished a new start—

A hope to retrieve

What my mind believed.

2022 November PAD Chapbook Challenge 29

Prompt: Write a poem about truth.

This poem is from 2020:

Abide with me, a popular hymn

Sung as a child with no unworthiness contemplated

Sure of comfort and protection from above, walking in the light.

True life experience, seeing unholiness surround,

Lack of love and kindness for each other

To truly abide seems lost.
