I am a widow since 2013 and live by myself in a small apartment. I use a wheelchair to get around, but I wouldn't consider myself disabled. I'm 11 years away from having bladder cancer resulting in a urostomy and I'm doing well. This cancer was a result of having radiation in 1995 because of uterine cancer. So have faith in yourself, a cancer diagnosis is not a death sentence. My first try at blogging was an attempt to help other people with my condition. I am a mother of three married children, and a grandmother to eight gorgeous kids, featuring them often here, and a great grandmother to two as of today, 6/7/25! I enjoy exploring my feelings and like to try the challenges. I like humor, music, movies, games, and some sports. I absolutely appreciate your reading and commenting on my blog. Growing up, were you closer to your mother or father, or was it a balance of both depending on the circumstances? Always my mom.

What was your favourite toy as a child, and do you still have it? A swing on an oak tree and no.

Did you have any secrets? Don’t we all?

What did you want to be when you grew up, and are you anywhere close? Like a lot of girls back then, a dancer.

It was not the opposite of a stage comedy, it was the comedy. Sue and her husband advanced into the lodge banquet hall and raised eyebrows when they observed the line of greedy tourists piling a variety of food on already overloaded plates. Joe turned to her and remarked, “don’t they know a banquet means they can go back again?”

“It was probably in the list of parameters they failed to read in the small print”, Sue joked.

The lodge’s liability coverage was limited at best as they chose to eliminate any extravagant food costs.

Yearning to be surrounded by his presence, yet not wanting to seem too submissive, she decided to let go of feelings past. Her body was parched from the unending chill of his absence. She burned for the heat of only him. She thought he might be upset and ignore her call, but in the misty evening he met her. It seemed he was longing for her touch also. In the morning red of dawn they were found entwined.

She gazed lovingly at the beautiful horses painted with rainbows, ever turning in circles. She began to feel dizzy trying to keep eyes on her favorite. She tugged on her father’s hand with a pleading sentence, “I promise I’ll hold on tight, please, daddy?”

“Do you have your allowance to buy a ticket for this carousel?” She fumbled in her coat pocket and retrieved two quarters, handing them to her father. “Well then, pay the man, climb up, and be careful” he said, reluctantly letting her go.

Another five minutes and she would be free. The midnight bus from Las Vegas had a stop a block from the club. By the time he knew she was missing, she’d be on her way to Colorado where she grew up. She had faith her family would accept her back home, but if not, she had saved enough strip dancing to get her own place. She eased back in the worn bus seat and tried to relax. She was on her way to a better life.

The unpleasant young lothario removed the key from under the stone. His forbidden ties to the housekeeper were well known to exacerbate her employer. Instead of approaching her landlord for permission to visit, he chose the cowardly act of sneaking in to her quarters after dark. The initial lustful equation in the relationship didn’t last long.
