Not using my forepaw
To hide what you saw
My yawning maw

For visually challenged writers, the image shows a red door in a narrow alleyway surrounded by white stone walls.

A long walk to the end
Traveled far to achieve this end
Lessons learned and now redemption
Funny they never mentioned
The secret door would be red
Think they’re messing with my head!

Simply 6 Minutes – Welcome to the Challenge: 08/15/2023

One-Liner Wednesday – That feeling when…
Mogadishu, Kalamazoo
Pacific Grove California too
Wherever you go around in a whirl
It’s all the same, the same old world
Conflicts, protests, sickness and cures,
Haters, and lovers all think they allure
The future depends on the survival of all
Every tint, every color feel fate’s rise and fall
The world keeps turning, but for how long
When we just keep playing the same old song
How long shall we sit in our safe comfy rooms
Watching, never acting, to change this doom?

This week’s Story Starter teaser is:
I didn’t see her when I opened the door, but I knew she was there. I could smell her perfume, “Night in Zambia”, we called it. When we were in Africa the life was simple and sweet with cooling lazy nights around a fire and hot sweaty days of watching wildlife. A perfume of sorts including all the scents of day and night and closeness were only between us. It had been ten years since she left me, but I can still feel and smell her presence.

Fandango’s Story Starter #110
Tanka Tuesday: I’ve asked my friend, and photographer, Terri Webster Schrandt, from secondwindleisure.com.

Some changes you have no choice
You think you have a voice
A say in what happens when
You think you do, and then
You’re knocked off your feet
Unaware of the defeat
Dreams, plans, all disappear
Your loved one dies and then fear
Can I make it all alone
Will I still have a home
It takes some time to realize
Things go on and you still have your life.
