“War is inevitable”, Jen heard her grandmother in the other room. This room was off limits to the old woman. Jen came here often, looking outside to see some of her schoolmates walking through rubble to attend school. Jen was not allowed and her mother taught her basic reading and writing at home. Jen’s grandmother was unable to navigate the home and spent her life sitting by the fireplace, so even though her words were true, she did not realize they were at war already.
