“The hills so dry, so dense the underbrush, that where I pushed my way the giant hush was changed to soft explosion.”

I seek the prairie lands, with hills so dry, so dense the underbrush, I pushed my way exploring till seeing the soft explosion of dwarf palmetto, small but determined flowers. The breeze seemed to halt with a giant hush but in the distance it was busy. Ranching in the dryness of a prairie is seldom effortless.
