The old house, with its wildly, overgrown garden, was silent, secretive. That’s why he loved it and visited every time he could. He did not want to change anything about it. He had grown up in this house. His grandparents lived there also and spoiled him, of course. When he stepped in the front door, memories flooded into his mind. Most of them were good memories but as every child has their version of life, so did his parents. His parents never came after this house was sold. What they didn’t realize was that he had bought the house and they were welcome to come anytime but their memories were not as great as his. Both sets of grandparents lived with them and also died there, and I think that was the main reason they didn’t want to go back. His memories, however, as a child did not include the sorrow that his parents felt. He shut the door and locked it. Then, as he started his car, he took a long look. He knew that he would come back.
