Hotel? No way, too expensive! Camping? Okay. The night was coming fast. Sweaty, hot and tired, the tent was finally set up. The blow up bed topped with sheet and blankets was a respite, until about one in the morning. We were flat on the cold tent floor, freezing. Deflated rubber beneath us lent no heat. So hotel? You betcha!

Right?! Can’t remember if I was in my late 30s or early 40s when I went on a mommy&son camping thing but that’s when I decided THESE HIPS WERE NOT MEANT TO SLEEP ON HARD GROUND. That understanding has only solidified as I aged. Bless. 😂🤣

I’m with you on that! Growing up we camped as a family; when I had my family my husband wanted to camp near a lake to go sailing on our new catamaran…I accepted a trailer only…no more bugs, sweeping sand and dirt from the floor and please, running water and not lugging 5 gallons jugs up a hill. As a senior, I go for hotel or B & B

I remember those days. First thing we did was dig a trench around the tent because the rain was inevitable😄

Yep, we would place the tent on a slope as well.

I’ve lived that story more than once. Luckily, not for many many years.
