Marie rushed into the bedroom, looked in the mirror and adjusted her large hoop skirt, pulled her breasts up almost over her bodice and applied too much rouge. Hurrying to put her curly hair into a relatively neat mess, she put on heels she had only worn a few times. Uncomfortable shoes were only for Robert’s eyes, especially when the hoop swished from side to side as Maria walked. All of this preparation was to make limerence show on her intended. Both Marie and her fiancé Robert were anxious for marriage.
