Depression

***

Finally, it happened

Free at last

Oppressing waves that held her

In the ocean of her past

She was drowning

Breathless in her guilt.

Then suddenly lightened

Feeling she could fly

Out of the mire

Of wanting to die.

The burden now lifted

Her mind justly quieted

She feels free at last.

  1. Someone asked me how it felt to be depressed. It’s NOT because something did or didn’t happen. It’s not a bad day at work.

Imagine being on a railway platform at night in the middle of nowhere

And you look up the track and it’s complete darkness.

And you look down the track and it’s complete darkness.

    And while you wait…

The lights start to go off on the platform, starting from the ends and working towards you in the middle.

And you just wait for the darkness to come.
