2024 is the first year since covid that Home Depot’s profits haven’t increased year-over-year. They say consumer demand is off, but they have no plans to lower prices. They say they’ll focus on innovation and customer service. My experience is that customer service is nearly non-existent in the store. The last time I asked an employee for help finding something, he told me to download their app.
Also, at the human-staffed checkout, the clerk mentioned that the self-checkout lanes were open. I sighed and said, “You know, if everybody used those, you wouldn’t have a job.” She said she was required to tell every customer that they could use the self-checkout.
Target has closed all but one in our local store, and it’s restricted to 10 items or less. I use them only when the lines at the cashiers are too long.

I see Walmart is starting to get rid of those now. I need help to use, so not my favorite

When I used to shop Target by myself I noticed huge lines of checkouts and only one or two usable🙄
