Streaks
Through the blinds
Slanted upward
Slats bright on the ceiling
I cover my head
Sunrise at dawn
I see you
And then I yawn
–
No alarm on this day
Sleeping in is good
No children’s breakfast meals
No pets to ask to go outside
Tranquility in my bed
No alarm buzz annoying
Coffee needed
Get up and get going
–
The garden flowers calling
Watering and feeding
Sun so bright I need glasses
All the blooms are stretching up
Weeds are tended well
Small buds opened bright
Successful plants this year
Flowers love sunshine light
–
Dawn, the best part of the day
Some believe it is
Noon is hottest
Roll up your sleeves
Get a cooling lemonade
Don’t forget your hat
Lose your suit coat
Discard your cravat.

MTB: It Begins to Dawn
A lovely poem. I want to stay late in bed too
