Tanka Tuesday

***

Tanka:

summer solstice reigns

golden wheat fronds sway in breeze

crop celebrations

cicadas singing in trees

their songs are a mating call

***

Quatrain:

strawberry moon lights

through the thinning veil

fairy land at night

Fireflies prevail

***

Haiku:

swimming pool

inviting children

splash delight

  1. I can just feel that breeze as the cicadas sing! It’s going to be very, very hot here within a few days, so a breeze will be welcome. I used to think a swimming pool would be nice, then as I got older it seemed too hot to want to go out in a pool!
