The box looked cool

Opened easily

I was no fool

Looked around suspiciously

Should I look inside

Do I dare?

I found this box, but won’t share where.

I glance around

No one’s looking

Think I’ll look inside, see what’s cooking

Then suddenly “it” pops out

“It” stares at me

Begins to shout,

“You have to keep me out!”

I found this box but won’t share where.

It was easy to see I was in trouble

“It” wanted out, on the double!

I took a minute and thought it out

“It” looked harmless, what was “It” about?

I let it escape, no problem arose, when you open a box, you just never know!

I found this box but won’t share where.

  1. I just listened to the tape where Trump was recorded with a bunch of moronic media.guys. It was mentioned in the last trial day and if there’s anyone who is a bag of filth, it’s him. How anyone can think he is presidential material (again) boggles my mind. He’s a box that never should’ve been opened. Personally I think it’s scary. Scary for my granddaughters and my whole family.

  2. Well done, Cheryl!
I was trying to think of a response, but failed to satisfy the charter. Nevertheless…..

I read it in the newspaper
    I saw it on TV
It was a picture of the humans
That I didn’t want to see
I found a box inside my head
Where I thought I’d rather be

It was a story of destruction
And of egos on the loose
    A war without a hero
And with no sign of a truce
It was a tale of devastation
    And starvation, child abuse
I found a box of revelation
With no sign of an excuse

    I wondered of the culprit
And of how this came to be
    Of the filthy over privileged
    Of the selfish bourgeoisie
The I found a box to hide inside
    To pretend it wasn’t me

  3. Cheryl this is a modern Pandora story so well told…loved the seond stanza which left the reader wondering what was inside! and you made extra effort with some rhymes only…

for accuracy the Bop poetry style has none and the refrain is an exact repeat
