Quadrille is a pocket-sized form of our own creation here at dVerse: a poem of just 44 words (not counting the title), including one word we provide. Today, I’d like you to tangle with the word touch.
***

just a skin to skin touch
radiating through at first the mind,
then the heart,
and all senses
making us human
the first touch a baby feels—
an experience expressing all of that
and provides a connection
lasting a lifetime
Quadrille #195 – Don’t Touch that Dial! (Stay and Write a Poem)
Thanks!

Cheryl you touch that ancient human connection, the life-line itself, so tender.

Believe it or not I just wrote a few words down that I thought might sit comfortably together. When I counted them there was exactly 44, so I didn’t edit a thing. That’s why it’s so clunky.

It’s not clunky ☺️

to pierce the air
bare this soul
made whole
embrace this instant
holding you.
coexistent moment
each component
moulding
to one life unfolding
to cause all time and space
and life and such
to pause so that
our hands might touch
