I was just hopping along enjoying my day
When the King of Hearts blocked my way
I have a job for you and be quick about it
Don’t repeat it and of course not shout it
I want you to meet a certain young girl
She has a blue and white dress and yellow curls
I want you to tell her you know of a place
And be sure to quicken your pace
I want her to visit my kingdom rare
Pointing to a hole in the ground over there
So I did as I was told and invited her in
To my home where the magic did begin.

. . . and what were you like before . . .
Fun one, Cheryl!

I really like how you playfully capture the whimsical and mischievous nature of the White Rabbit in your prequel, setting the stage for the magical journey ahead.

There are so many great characters to choose from in Alice in Wonderland, Cheryl, and the White Rabbit is a great choice – Jefferson Airplane certainly thought so. I love that you wrote your poem in the first person, and that the White Rabbit is in the service of the King of Hearts.

Ah….I like this beginning to the Alice in Wonderland tale. The King of Hearts, plotting it all the time and the small rabbit, obeying his demands.
