A permanent vision is planted here to remind us that life is sometimes too difficult to handle on your own. The despair of being penniless, homeless, or sick and having no one to help you; your words and thoughts never heard, or ridiculed sometimes to the point of violence. Lonely and miserable, covering yourself completely shuts everything out for a short time.
I like ‘a permanent vision’ – statue doesn’t somehow seem the right word for the figure.
