As I sit here and postulate
about the word absquatulate
I reach for a dictionary and contemplate
the meaning of this word—debate
Why use a word so antiquated
Even if it’s easily mated
With similar old, outdated?
Others are more often stated
Using a meaning easier rated:
(To leave abruptly)
Why not say scram Sam, or beat it
Or pointedly gesture, get out
Say pull up stakes, or let’s bounce
Or tip your hat with smile and scoff
You have to dash and be off.
